CityBoy Movement Denies Alleged Blasphemous Statement Attributed to Seyi Tinubu

The CityBoy Movement has dismissed as false and malicious a social media publication attributing blasphemous comments to Barrister Seyi Tinubu concerning Almighty God and the 2027 presidential election.

In a press statement signed by the Deputy Director General, Communication and Public Affairs, O’tega Ogra, the group described the viral write-up, allegedly authored by one “Albaabu Abudulahi,” as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and incite religious tension.

According to the statement, Seyi Tinubu never made the comments credited to him and has “never made such a statement at any time, in any place, through any channel, or under any circumstance whatsoever.”

The movement maintained that the attribution was entirely fabricated and intended to damage Tinubu’s reputation, distort his values and provoke unnecessary controversy.

Defending the son of President Bola Tinubu, the statement said Seyi Tinubu is a man of faith who strongly believes that all power belongs to God alone and that authority can only be exercised through divine grace and permission.

“He has never insulted, mocked, questioned or diminished the supremacy of Almighty God or Allah, and will never do so,” the statement added.

The group further stressed that while Seyi Tinubu remains committed to mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, he recognises that all political ambitions and human endeavours succeed only by the will of God.

The CityBoy Movement urged Nigerians to disregard the alleged statement, describing it as a calculated effort by mischief makers to inflame passions and create division along religious lines.

It also called on the media, digital publishers and social media users to verify information before sharing content capable of threatening national harmony and peaceful coexistence.

The organisation reiterated Seyi Tinubu’s commitment to democratic engagement, national unity, responsible public conduct and respect for all religions.
