The daily devotional Open Heavens for Wednesday, May 13, 2026, authored by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged Christians to be mindful of their actions online and offline, warning that negative footprints could have lasting consequences.
In the devotional titled “Mind Your Footprints (1)”, Pastor Adeboye stressed that the internet has become one of the major places where individuals leave traces of their character and behaviour.
He noted that inappropriate posts, harmful comments, and negative online conduct could resurface in the future and damage a person’s reputation.
According to him, believers should ensure that their digital footprints reflect godly values, adding that positive conduct online would prevent future regret and negative consequences.
Quoting Hebrews 12:1, the cleric reminded Christians that they are constantly surrounded by “a great cloud of witnesses,” explaining that this includes not only the hosts of heaven but also fellow human beings and spiritual forces observing their actions.
Pastor Adeboye warned against committing wrongful acts in secret, saying that nothing is hidden from God, who continually examines the hearts and actions of mankind. He referenced Jeremiah 17:10 to emphasise that God rewards every individual according to their deeds.
He further encouraged believers to renew their minds daily through God’s word and to honour God in all their actions, citing Romans 12:2 and Colossians 3:17.
The devotional concluded with a call for Christians to avoid actions that could negatively affect their future and to seek divine guidance in making the right decisions at all times
