The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agege has congratulated Hon. Oluwagbenga Abiola Omaco, popularly known as Agbelebu, and Hon. Enimakure Akindele Sakiru on their emergence as the party’s candidates for Agege Constituency I and Constituency II, respectively, ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
In a statement signed by the Director-General and Chairman of the Sakiru Enimakure Campaign Committee, Alhaji Semiu Ojolowo, the party said the candidates’ nominations had been officially confirmed with the issuance of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms, affirming them as the APC’s standard-bearers for the elections.
The party expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC leadership at the national, state and local government levels, as well as party members and residents of Agege, for their support and commitment, which it said contributed to the successful emergence of the candidates.
The APC called on all party leaders, caucuses and members across Agege to unite behind the candidates and work collectively to secure victory for the party in the elections.
The party, however, cautioned against any form of anti-party activity, citing reports of alleged plans to repeat what it described as the “MYPP abracadabra” witnessed during the 2021 local government elections.
According to the statement, the 2021 incident allegedly involved party members working against the APC’s chairmanship candidate, Hon. Wahab Adeoye, resulting in his defeat in a ward considered a party stronghold.
The Agege APC warned that it would not tolerate acts of indiscipline, sabotage or disloyalty, stressing that anyone found working against the party’s duly nominated candidates would face disciplinary measures in line with the APC constitution, regardless of their position within the party.
The party urged members to remain loyal, set aside personal interests and work in unity to ensure electoral success.
“Agege is APC, and APC is Agege. Victory is certain when we stand together,” the statement added.
