The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the provisional list of governorship candidates and their running mates for the June 20, 2026, Ekiti State governorship election, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) conspicuously absent.
While 12 other political parties successfully submitted the names of their candidates, the PDP’s flagbearer, Dr. Wole Oluyede, did not appear on the list displayed at INEC’s Ekiti State headquarters along New Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti.
Dr. Oluyede, a medical practitioner, emerged as the PDP governorship candidate from the party’s primary election held on November 9, 2025, under the leadership of the Umar Damagum-led National Working Committee (NWC).
