The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has extended an open invitation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to defect from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and join the ruling party.
The invitation was made public on Tuesday by the Kano State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, on behalf of a former national chairman of the party and immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
According to Abbas, the move is aimed at fostering unity, reconciliation and accelerated development in Kano State.
He said the APC was prepared to welcome Governor Yusuf and work collaboratively in the interest of the State.
“The APC is ready to receive Governor Abba Yusuf with open arms so that, together, we can combine our strengths for the progress of the state,” Abbas stated.
He added that the party believes a united political front would enhance governance and promote stability, while advancing the collective aspirations of the people of Kano State.
