Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday visited his ward on Lagos Island to re-register his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the exercise as a reminder of the grassroots nature of politics.
The governor revalidated his membership at Ward E3, also known as Premier Ward, in Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island, under the Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Speaking during the visit, Sanwo-Olu noted that Lagos Island holds deep personal significance for him, as it is where much of his political and personal journey began.
He said returning to his ward underscored the importance of people-centred politics and collective efforts in building a better society.
The governor interacted with neighbours and party members, using the opportunity to encourage wider participation in the APC’s ongoing membership registration and revalidation exercise.
He called on existing members to revalidate their membership and urged non-members who share the party’s vision for Lagos to formally join, stressing that active involvement is essential to sustaining progress in the state.
According to Sanwo-Olu, Lagos can only continue to move forward when residents take collective ownership of its future through participation and commitment at the grassroots level.
