The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) has sealed Pa Kasumu Adepeju Olaniyonu House, located at 22 Apongbon Street, Lagos Island, for discharging faecal waste into public drains.
The action, carried out on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, was in line with the state government’s drive for a safer and cleaner Lagos. Authorities described the discharge as a public nuisance that constitutes environmental pollution and poses serious risks to human health.
The Commissioner for Environment reaffirmed the state’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental infractions and urged residents to adopt proper wastewater management and hygiene practices in order to safeguard public health and promote environmental sustainability.
