The Office of Abubakar Malami, SAN, has reaffirmed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and its legal representatives were duly served with the Order of the Honourable Court.
According to the office, a day after the order was issued, a court bailiff, Mr. Abiodun Kolawole, attempted to serve the EFCC, but officials of the commission refused to accept the document. The office stressed that such refusal does not invalidate service nor does it in any way diminish the authority of the court.
It further stated that later the same evening, the Office of Okutepa, SAN, received the court order, thereby conclusively establishing notice and awareness of the order on behalf of the EFCC.
The statement underscores that the EFCC cannot claim ignorance of the court’s directive, having been properly notified through its legal representatives.
