We Are Restoring Dignity, Not Just Giving Aid” — TOOF Founder, Speaks at 2025 Empowerment Programme

The Founder and Executive Director of The Olanike Omopariola Foundation (TOOF), Oluwatoyin Omotayo Esq., has reiterated that the Foundation’s work is rooted in restoring dignity and creating real opportunities for women, not merely dispensing charity.
Omotayo made this statement on 28 December 2025 at TOOF’s annual Charity and Empowerment Programme, an event dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and women from low-income backgrounds.
According to her, empowerment must address both immediate needs and long-term stability. “This Foundation exists to remind women that their lives matter, their voices matter, and their future is worth investing in,” she said.
The programme brought together beneficiaries, community leaders, volunteers, and advocates, with a focus on financial empowerment, material support, and renewed hope. Beneficiaries received essential goody items alongside monetary support aimed at sustaining small businesses, education, and basic livelihood needs.
Speaking further, Omotayo emphasised that TOOF’s mission goes beyond relief efforts. “Charity alone is not enough. We are intentional about restoring dignity, rebuilding confidence, and creating pathways for women, especially survivors of abuse, to reclaim their independence,” she stated.
She outlined TOOF’s core objectives as empowering women, supporting survivors of domestic and gender-based violence, assisting children from low-income families, and advocating for the protection of women’s rights. Through its annual programmes, the Foundation has consistently provided financial assistance, food support, educational materials, and mentorship to vulnerable individuals.
Omotayo also used the platform to call on government at all levels to take women’s rights seriously. “Women’s rights are fundamental human rights, and sustainable development cannot be achieved when women are left behind,” she said, urging stronger laws against domestic violence, increased investment in empowerment programmes, and improved access to justice and social protection.
Looking ahead, the TOOF founder revealed plans to expand the Foundation’s empowerment and advocacy initiatives, reach more communities, strengthen partnerships, and deepen engagement on women’s economic, social, and political inclusion.
The 2025 Charity and Empowerment Programme, she concluded, reflects TOOF’s enduring commitment to building a society where women are protected, empowered, and given the opportunity to thrive.
