Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have sustained intense offensive operations against Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists across parts of Borno State, forcing 11 fighters to surrender along the Azir–Wajiroko axis.
The surrendered terrorists reportedly laid down their arms with AK-47 rifles and assorted ammunition.
In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba said the development followed coordinated clearance operations conducted by troops on January 9, 2026.
According to the statement, troops carried out extensive operations in the Bulaagalda cluster, where several terrorist enclaves and camps located at Dagumba, Bonne, Yaganari, Gosuri and Umchile were destroyed.
During the operations, troops dismantled terrorist life-support structures, degraded their logistics networks and recovered items including terrorist flags, weapons and magazines.
Lieutenant Colonel Uba added that similar offensive operations in the Yale and Bula Gaida areas forced terrorists to flee, leading to the destruction of additional logistics facilities and the recovery of weapons, ammunition and a general-purpose machine gun.
In a related operation based on credible intelligence, troops engaged JAS/ISWAP elements between Sojiri and Kayamla villages, resulting in the neutralisation of eight terrorists and the recovery of AK-47 rifles.
He further disclosed that two suspected terrorist logistics collaborators were arrested at Gubio Local Government Area for allegedly supplying logistics to terrorist groups.
The military said the sustained operations reflect the continued commitment of Operation Hadin Kai to degrading terrorist capabilities and restoring lasting peace in the North East.
