Governor Abiodun Says Ilisan–Ilara–Akaka–Ode-Remo Road Nears Completion

Ogun State Governor, Mr. Dapo Abiodun, has announced the near completion of the 12.4-kilometre Ilisan–Ilara–Akaka–Ode-Remo Road, with only lane markings and kerb painting left to be done.

The governor said asphalt work has been completed on the Ode-Remo–Akaka and Ilisan–Ilara–Akaka sections of the road, alongside drainage construction and earthworks across the entire corridor.

According to Abiodun, the reconstruction has significantly improved movement and safety while restoring economic activities in communities that were previously isolated due to poor road conditions.

He noted that the road now offers a safer access route for residents who formerly had to cross a runway from Ilishan to reach Akaka, Ilara, and Ode-Remo, thereby eliminating a long-standing safety risk.

The governor added that with the project now at its final stage, Akaka and neighbouring towns are being opened up to renewed socio-economic activities, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering people-oriented infrastructure across the State.
