The Lagos State Government has called on residents to actively participate in the environmental sanitation exercise scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the exercise would subsequently hold on the last Saturday of every month between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
He urged Lagosians to take part by cleaning their surroundings, clearing drainage channels within their premises, and ensuring proper waste disposal.
Wahab stressed that the sanitation exercise remains a civic responsibility and a key step toward achieving a cleaner, healthier, and flood-resilient State.
He also warned that compliance would be strictly enforced, noting that the initiative would be supported by relevant enforcement agencies of the state government.
The monthly sanitation exercise was previously a routine in Lagos, aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness and safeguarding public health.
