Abdulsamad Jamiu, a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, was killed by soldiers of the guards brigade quick response in Dei-Dei, Abuja.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday at Shagari Estate.
In a statement issued by the headquarters of the guards brigade, the army said troops rushed to the scene following an alleged distress call from residents under attack by armed robbers and Jamiu was killed after being caught in the crossfire.
