Cristiano Ronaldo once again proved decisive as Al Nassr moved to the brink of the Saudi Pro League title with a commanding 2-0 victory over Al Ahli on Wednesday night.
The Portuguese captain broke the deadlock in the 75th minute, rising highest to meet a pinpoint corner from João Félix before glancing a superb header beyond Édouard Mendy.
It was a goal worthy of the occasion and one that tightened Al Nassr’s grip on the title race.
Ronaldo’s strike, his 25th league goal of the season, underlined his enduring influence in Saudi Arabia. With the title race entering its final stretch, the 41-year-old continues to deliver when it matters most.
Al Ahli had kept the league leaders at bay for much of the contest, but Ronaldo’s breakthrough finally broke their resistance.
The visitors then sealed the points in stoppage time when Kingsley Coman rifled home after another dangerous set-piece caused panic in the Al Ahli defence.
The victory extended Al Nassr’s remarkable winning streak to 20 matches in all competitions, including 16 straight league wins. With only four games remaining, they now sit firmly in control of the championship race.
Ronaldo’s latest goal also brought him to 970 career goals for club and country, another extraordinary milestone in a career defined by relentless excellence.
He has now scored nine times in his last nine appearances and remains locked in a fierce battle for the league’s Golden Boot.
For Al Nassr, the finish line is now clearly in sight. And with Ronaldo leading from the front, few would bet against them completing the job.
