National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Senator Kabiru Gaya amid speculation over the former lawmaker’s possible return to the ruling party.

Senator Gaya, a founding member of the APC, is currently a member of the New Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a statement, Prof. Yilwatda described the meeting as cordial, saying discussions centred on promoting unity and peace in Kano State.

“We agreed that leaders have a responsibility to promote dialogue and peaceful coexistence,” the APC chairman said.

He added that democracy thrives when political leaders place the interests of the people above partisan considerations.

“Democracy is strengthened not by division, but by our collective resolve to put the interests of the people above political differences,” Yilwatda stated.
