Adeleke Urges INEC to Follow Due Process in Osun Governorship Election
Osun State Governor and Accord governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to strictly adhere to the electoral process and ensure a free, fair and credible governorship election across the State.
Adeleke made the call shortly after casting his vote at Polling Unit 009, Ward 02, Abogunde Compound, Ede North Local Government Area, on Saturday.
The governor alleged that there were plans to bypass the established collation process, insisting that election results must be transmitted through the prescribed stages.
“I have it on good authority that they do not want to follow the normal process, which is from the polling units to the wards and then to the local government.
“Instead, they want to take everything directly to the collation centre, and that is not acceptable. They must follow the rules,” he said.
Adeleke urged voters and his supporters to remain vigilant throughout the electoral process, while expressing confidence in his victory at the polls.
“I am urging my people to watch out. And I know, by the special grace of God, that I am winning this election,” he added.
